Winter in Wells Gray is all about experience the untouched Canadian wilderness as it once was and still is. Cross country ski over 85 km of groomed trails tailored for both classic and skate ski, or cross country ski to Clearwater Lake and see it in its winter splendour. Wells Gray has some of the best snow due to our climate, which makes it great for back country skiing. Experience the waterfalls in winter, forming huge ice coulombs and snow cones, and snowshoe to unique and beautiful features. With over 50 lakes within an hour of Clearwater and guides with the local knowledge, Wells Gray is a great ice-fishing location; not too mention the Ice Man Fishing Derby held each year.

Many nights are spent at the local hockey rink, whether its figure skating, curling or family skating.
